Bundelkhand Expressway Route, Inauguration Date, Length and Cost

Bundelkhand Expressway is among the best expressways in India with 296 km of length, 4-lane expressway in Uttar Pradesh, India. It will connect Chitrakoot district with Kudrail village on Agra–Lucknow Expressway in Etawah district.

The best thing about the expressway is that it has been completed eight months ahead of schedule. It covers the seven districts of Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Aurraiya and Etawah. The road length has crossings over several rivers: Bagen, Ken, Shyama, Chandawal, Birma, Yamuna, Betwa and Sengar. According to the government spokesman, the expressway starts near Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot district and merges with the Agra-Lucknow expressway near Kudrail village in Etawah district.

To bolster connectivity in the backward areas of the State, the Uttar Pradesh government proposed a 296 km-long Bundelkhand Expressway in April 2017. The starting point of the expressway is Near Bharatkoop at Jhansi-Prayagraj National Highway Number-35 in district Chitrakoot, and the ending point is Near village Kudrail in district Etawah on the Agra-Lucknow expressway. A district like Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, and Etawah get directly benefited from this expressway.

Bundelkhand Expressway Inauguration Date

According to the sources, it’s confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Bundelkhand Expressway on July 16, 2022. Laying the foundation stone on February 29, 2020, PM Modi said, “this project will create thousands of job opportunities and connect the common people with facilities in bigger cities.”

Bundelkhand Expressway Length

The total length of the Bundelkhand Expressway is 296.070 KM. This expressway will cross the main 8 rivers like Bagen, Ken, Shyama, Chandawal, Birma, Yamuna, Betwa, and Sengar. For smooth expressway traffic, 4 Railway Over Bridges, 14 Large bridges, 7 Ramp Plaza, 266 minor bridges, and 18 Fly Overs have been constructed.

Bundelkhand Expressway Cost

The entire cost of the expressway is 7766.81 crore. The project has been divided into six packages. Contracts have been constituted with developers like Apco Infratech, Ashoka Buildcon, Gavar Construction and Dilip Bildcon. After this expressway Bundelkhand and Chitrakoot area will be linked with a fast and smooth traffic corridor to the Agra-Lucknow expressway and Yamuna expressway, thus further connected to the National Capital Region (NCR Delhi).
