CLAT is a national-level examination conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 nation l law universities. This extension is raying an of hope for candidates who due for what so ever reason could not apply for this examination earlier. Registration for CLAT 2022 exam is done online and a detailed procedure is discussed later in this article.

CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The first thing to know about the CLAT 2022 eligibility criteria is that there is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2022 examination. Let’s now look at the criteria for UG and PG courses:

UG Law Programme:

Any candidate who has completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination can apply for CLAT 2022 examination. Also, in case you have just completed your Class 12th examination in March/April 2022, then also you can appear for the CLAT exam. In this case, you need to give evidence of passing the examination meeting the requirements of the undermentioned mark at the time of admission.

The minimum marks required for appearing in CLAT 2022 Examination are as under:

  • 45% marks for General/OBC/Specially abled persons categories
  • 40% marks for SC/ST categories

PG Law Programme:

For applying for PG Law Programme with CLAT 2022, candidates must have to qualified LLB. General/OBC/Specially abled category candidates need a minimum of 50% marks and SC/ST category candidates need a minimum of 45% marks in graduation.

Documents required for CLAT 2022 Application Process

Following is the list of documents required for the CLAT 2022 examination:

  • Photograph in Jpeg/png format
  • Signature in Jpeg/png format
  • Category Certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates
  • Relevant Certificate for P.W.D. candidates
  • Relevant Certificate for BPL candidates

CLAT 2022 Application Fees

General and OBC candidates have to pay INR 4000 as an application fee and for ST/SC/EWS category application fee for CLAT 2022 exam is INR 3500. This fee is to be paid online at the time of filing the application.

CLAT 2022 Application Process

Step 1 – Registration

Visit the official website https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2022/ and register with your phone and email id. Please keep these details secure with you as you will need them in the future too. Keep your phone handy as you will need OTP for registration.

Step 2 – Application Form

Log in with the registration details generated in Step 1. Fill out the form with the required details and upload the documents as per the list given above. Most of the form is self-explanatory but still, we have prepared a list of queries that you may face at the time of applying.

Step 3 – Make Payment

Payment can be done online via any payment gateway.

1. When will CLAT Registration start?

Ans: The registration process for CLAT 2022 has already been started.

2. I have filed the form online but am unable to pay the application fee online. Can I pay the same offline?

Ans: Candidates must pay the application fee online only. Please try a second time, in case you still face the issue you can connect with the help desk at the official website.

3. What is the mode of examination?

Ans: CLAT exam is conducted in offline mode and has multiple-choice questions.

4. Does NLU release the answer key after the examination?

Ans: Yes, the answer key is released a few weeks after the examination. For CLAT 2022 examination it is supposed to be released in the month of June 2022. Using this answer key candidates are able to make a calculated guess on their expected marks.

5. What to do in case of an error in the CLAT 2022 admit card?

Ans: Although uncommon but discrepancies can arise in your admit card. In case you find any discrepancy in your CLAT 2022 admin card, immediately contact the consortium via their official website.

Mail and phone facility is also available but raising the support ticket is the quickest method of resolution.

6. How to check the CLAT 2022 result?

Ans: CLAT 2022 results will be shared on the official website of the CLAT consortium and the same can be checked with the registered email address and date of birth.

7. How many universities are participating in CLAT 2022 exam?

Ans: There are 22 national law universities that will participate in CLAT 2022 examination.

8. How is the CLAT cut-off decided?

Ans: CLAT Cut Off is decided based on various factors. Variables include the number of candidates, candidate marks, the difficulty level of examination, and many more. Cut off for the exam will be shared after the declaration of the result. Only the candidates who meet the cut-off criteria are called for counseling.

9. When will CLAT 2022 Counselling Start?

Ans: The counseling schedule and guidelines are released after the declaration of results. Seat allotment is done based on ranks, categories, and the number of available seats. A counseling fee of INR 50,000 is charged for the participation and all category candidates must participate in the counseling process. Admissions are given after fee payment and documents verification.

10. Can the application for CLAT 2022 be filled offline?

Ans: No, only online applications are being accepted for the examination.
