Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express train is the 13th India’s upcoming Vande Bharat Express train which will connect two major cities of Tamil Nadu.
This is the second Vande Bharat Express train that will be operating from Chennai after the Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express. Southern Railway has planned to operate the high-speed Vande Bharat express train between the two cities on all days except Wednesdays. “It is the fastest train between the two cities with a travel time of 5 hours and 50 minutes, saving more than an hour of journey time,” an official release said.
The train, the first to connect two Tamil Nadu cities, has enhanced passenger safety with the indigenous automatic train protection system ‘KAVACH’, CCTV cameras in all coaches and automatic sliding doors.
Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat Timing
The Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat will depart from Coimbatore at 6 am and reach Chennai Central at 11.50 am the same day. This Vande Bharat express train will take around 5 hours and 50 minutes to reach the final destination. The timing for the same train from Chennai will leave by 2:25 pm and will reach Coimbatore by 8:15 pm after travelling the 5 hours and 50 minutes. This is the fasted train between these two stations and will help the travel to save time.
Coimbatore’s new express train is equipped with several modern amenities, including bio-vacuum toilets, onboard Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, a GPS-based passenger information system, and automatic doors. The train also has a state-of-the-art onboard catering system, with a menu that includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat express train route has a total of 3 stoppages before reaching the final destination. Train leaving from MGR Chennai Central will stop at Salem Junction, Erode Junction and Tiruppur.
The train leaving from Coimbatore Junction will stop at Tiruppur, Erode Junction and Salem Junction before reaching the final destination to MGR Chennai Central. Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat Route is designed in a way so that a maximum number of travellers can save time.

Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat ticket price is quite high as compared to the other train on the same route. The total cost to travel from Coimbatore to Chennai by Vande Bharat train is Rupees 1225 through Chair Car and Rupees 2320 through Chair Economy class.
The total cost to travel from Tirupur to Chennai by Vande Bharat train is Rupees 1130 through Chair Car and Rupees 2150 through Chair Economy class. The total cost to travel from Erode to Chennai by Vande Bharat train is Rupees 1150 through Chair Car and Rupees 1995 through Chair Economy class.

The new Chennai – Coimbatore – Chennai Vande Bharat will run at 130 kmph in Chennai – Jolarpettai section. Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat has a total of three stops 3 before reaching the final destination. Train leaving from MGR Chennai Central will stop at Salem Junction, Erode Junction and Tiruppur. The train leaving from Coimbatore Junction will stop at Tiruppur, Erode Junction and Salem Junction before reaching the final destination to MGR Chennai Central.
