Write for The Ganga Times: Share Your Ideas with Us!

Hey You!

Excited about sharing your thoughts? We’re on the lookout for fresh voices at The Ganga Times. Whether you’ve got a mind-blowing idea or just a cool perspective on something that keeps you up at night, we want to hear from you.

But, real talk, contributing to The Ganga Times takes some effort. We’re all about making your article the best it can be, and we’ll work with you to get there. Once you’re in, you’ll get feedback from our awesome team and collaborate with an editor to polish things up.

And guess what? It’s not just hard work; it’s rewarding too. Your work will be read by tons of people, and you’ll learn a bunch in the process—about writing, about your ideas, and about the topic you’re passionate about.

What We’re After

Got a rough draft, a bit of a draft, or just a quick pitch? We’re open to it all. The more complete your submission, the better we can help you out. Just remember, it has to be something fresh—no recycling old stuff, even from your blog.

Oh, and please, no press releases or sales pitches. We’re not fans of those.

Before you hit us up, take a look at our style guide and recent articles. Make sure your submission:

  • Has a clear point to make, not just a bunch of tips.
  • Sounds like you—be bold, be interesting, be you.
  • Talks to designers, developers, content folks, or similar.
  • Backs up what you’re saying with good reasons and maybe a few sources.
  • Follows our style guide.

Need some advice? Check out “Writing is Thinking” and “So You Want to Write an Article?” for tips and tricks.

What We Put Out

Our articles can be short and sweet or a bit more in-depth, anywhere from 600 to 2,500 words. The average? Around 1,500 words. We love exploring what’s hot and new in the web world. And yep, most articles come with cool illustrations.

How to Get Involved

Ready to roll? Shoot us an email with your stuff, preferably as a Google doc so we can chat about it right in there. Or, if that’s not your jam, send a plain text, Markdown, or HTML file. No ZIP files unless we ask, though.

After you hit send:

  1. An editor will check out your submission to see if it vibes with us.
  2. The team chats every week about the latest and greatest submissions.
  3. You’ll get some notes from the editor—don’t worry if we want a bit of a tweak.
  4. If we’re feeling it, we’ll help you get your piece just right.
  5. Once it’s a yes, an editor will team up with you on the final touches.
  6. Your article gets its time to shine when revisions are done. We’ll give you a heads up on the exact date.

Excited to share your ideas with The Ganga Times? We can’t wait to see what you’ve got!
