सरकार द्वारा कोरोनावायरस का टीका लगाने के लिए स्वास्थ्य कार्यकर्ताओं को तवज्जो दी गई है। इसके बाद 50 साल से अधिक उम्र के लोगों को टीका लगाया जाएगा। जिन राज्यों में 50 से अधिक उम्र के मधुमेह और हाई ब्लड प्रेशर वाले मरीज हैं, उन्हें कोरोना वैक्सीन के अधिक डोज मिलने की संभावना है। इस हिसाब से तमिलनाडु की जनसंख्या (Population of Tamil Nadu) कम होने के बावजूद उसे बिहार से अधिक वैक्सीन मिलेगी। मध्य प्रदेश और राजस्थान (Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan) जैसे राज्य भी तमिलनाडु से अधिक आबादी वाले हैं लेकिन उन्हें भी कम वैक्सीन मिल सकती है।
जनसंख्या की बात करें तो तमिलनाडु में करीब 7.6 करोड़ लोग रहते हैं जबकि बिहार की आबादी 12.3 करोड़ है। (Population of Bihar is 12.3 crore) चुकी बिहार की सिर्फ 1.8 करोड़ आबादी 50 वर्ष से ऊपर है और तमिलनाडु की 2 करोड़, शुरुआती दौर में दक्षिण भारतीय राज्य को अधिक वैक्सीन आने की संभावना है।

देश की सबसे बड़ी जनसंख्या वाले राज्य उत्तर प्रदेश के 15% लोग 50 साल से अधिक उम्र के हैं, जोकि संख्या में 3 करोड़ होता है। इस कारन से यूपी के खाते में सबसे अधिक वैक्सीन जाएगी। दक्षिण भारत के एक और राज्य केरल की जनसंख्या (Population of Kerala) की 25 प्रतिशत से अधिक आबादी डायबिटीज से ग्रसित होने के कारण इस राज्य की आवश्यकता अधिक होने वाली है।
