Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University(GGSIPU), formerly Indraprastha University (IP or IPU), is a state university that comes under the Delhi state government.
The university is organized around fourteen university schools and three university centres that focus on programs in law, medicine, technology, education, entrepreneurship, science and business. GGSIPU is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. It has been ranked 77 among the universities in India by NIRF 2022. IPU has more than 120 affiliated colleges, out of which 83 are self-financed and 35 are owned and managed by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
IPU offers over 50 UG, PG, and Research programs in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, and Medicine among others. The university is quite popular for its BTech, MBA, BBA, BCA, and LLB programs. Admissions at IPU for most of the courses are conducted through IPU CET (Common Entrance Test) followed by a counselling process.
GGSIPU Two New Courses From 2023-24 Session
The recent academic brochure released by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for an upcoming academic session announced that there would be two new courses from the 2023-24 session.
The university is launching two four-year undergraduate programmes, including BA in English and BA in Liberal arts with a major in history, sociology and political science. While the BA in English will be run by the School of Humanities and social sciences and the BA in Liberal Arts will be run by the School of liberal arts.
What is BA in Liberal Arts
BA in Liberal Arts studies is a traditional form of education which is taken up after one completes school. Liberal Arts cover various forms of disciplines and subjects where a student is exposed to different fields of education in one course.
BA in Liberal Arts is a bachelor’s degree programme for those students who wish to explore a range of subjects from arts and humanities to languages and social sciences.
