Howrah Puri Vande Bharat will be the first Vande Bharat Express for Odisha. After starting the Vande Bharat train, travel time between Howrah and Puri will be decreased to 6 hours from 9 hours.
The number of Vande Bharat trains in India is increasing at high speed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Kerala’s first and India’s 15th Vande Bharat Express at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station on April 25, 2023. The first Vande Bharat Express train ran between New Delhi and Varanasi on February 15 2019. In the last four years, Indian Railways has started 15 Vande Bharat Express trains, and they are preparing to launch 75 new Vande Bharat Express in upcoming years.
According to the media reports, the new Vande Bharat Express is expected to run before 24th May 2023. The Howrah Puri Vande Bharat will connect West Bengal’s capital, Kolkata and Odisha’s most famous tourist destination Puri. This train will help to cut travel time between Howrah and Puri. Currently, the fasted train between Howrah and Puri is Shatabdi Express which takes around 7 hours and 35 minutes to complete the journey from Howrah to Puri.
Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Express Train Route
Howrah to Puri is one of the busiest railway routes which connects West Bengal and Odisha. The route connects the Odisha capital Bhubaneswar and many tourist places also. The distance between Howrah and Puri is 499 km. Currently, the average running time train between Howrah and Puri is 8 to 10 hours. Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Express train route will connect some major railway stations like Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttak and Bhubaneswar between Howrah and Puri.
Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Timetable
According to the sources, the Howrah Puri Vande Bharat train will start its journey from Howrah at 5:50 am and reach the destination, Puri, at 11:50 am on the same day. From Puri, the Vande Bharat Express will leave the station at 2:30 pm and reach Howrah station at 8.30 pm on the same day.
Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Ticket Price
As per the media reports, the Howrah Puri Vande Bharat express train will cost around 1395 rupees for a single journey in AC Chair Car class and 2515 rupees for Exec. Chair Car (EC). Currently, Howrah Puri Shatabdi Express has a fare of 1380 rupees for AC Chair car and 2130 rupees for Exec. Chair Car.
Howrah Puri Vande Bharat Start Date
According to the information from various sources, the Howrah Puri Vande Bharat train will be started on this route in the second week of May 2023. The final date is not announced by Railway officials. Currently, the railway is doing the trail work between Howrah and Puri to launch the Vande Bharat Express.
