The Kerala Vande Bharat train, which is also known as the Thiruvananthapuram Kannur Vande Bharat Express train, is expected to get officially inaugurated on 25 April 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Southern Railway (SR) zone is set to introduce a new semi-high speed express service (Kerala Vande Bharat Express Train) in Kerala, marking the state’s first blue and white coloured train and the third for the SR zone. The Thiruvananthapuram Kannur Vande Bharat Express train will be Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express. Kerala Vande Bharat Express will be India’s 15th Vande Bharat Express.
There are currently 14 Vande Bharat Express trains running between different stations in India. Kerala first Vande Bharat Express is expected to come with 16 coaches. On April 25 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train service at Thiruvananthapuram Central and it will be the third Vande Bharat train for Southern Railway.
Kerala Vande Bharat Train Timing (Thiruvananthapuram – Kannur Vande Bharat Express Timing)
According to sources, the ‘Kerala Vande Bharat’ is likely to start its trip from Thiruvananthapuram around 6 am and will reach Kannur around 1 pm and it will departure from Kannur by 2 pm and will reach Thiruvananthapuram around 9 pm. Thiruvananthapuram – Kannur Vande Bharat Express will take around 7 hours to complete the one-way journey.
Kerala Vande Bharat Train Route
Kerala Vande Bharat Train route will cover a distance of 500 km from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur and Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram. Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur is one of the most famous routes in Kerala because of its connect the state capital and popular tourist places in the state. There is no semi-high-speed train running on this route currently.
Kerala Vande Bharat Train Stops
According to the reports, Thiruvananthapuram – Kannur Vande Bharat Express train will stop at six majors station between Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur. The six major stations shortlisted for Kerala Vande Bharat train stops are Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Tirur and Kozhikode. The list of final stops maybe also get changed depending on demand.
Kerala Vande Bharat Train Ticket Price
Railway officials have not yet confirmed the Thiruvananthapuram Kannur Vande Bharat Express train fare. According to sources, the Thiruvananthapuram Kannur Vande Bharat Express train will cost around 1370 rupees for a single journey in AC Chair Car class and 2500 rupees for Exec. Chair Car (EC).
The ticket price includes charges like base fare, reservation charge, superfast charge, GST and catering charge. The catering charge is optional, so if you want to travel by Vande Bharat train at a low cost, then you can book a seat without food. This can help you to save around 200 to 300 rupees based on distance and train timing.
