The 52-year old accused, Ditesh Nandu, has been remanded to police custody till 20 December for Sexual Assault With 17-year-old college Girl.

Mumbai police arrested a 52-year-old man on Saturday, 15 December, for allegedly molesting a 17-year-old girl after deceiving her with a false promise of modeling work. The accused, identified as Ditesh Nandu, is a resident of Santa Cruz and reportedly lured the minor by claiming he was organizing a portfolio shoot for a soft drink advertisement campaign.
The incident occurred on 11 December in Andheri but came to light after the girl filed a complaint with the police. Based on CCTV footage collected from the area, investigators confirmed that Nandu and the girl were seen walking together toward the location around 3:30 pm.
According to the girl’s statement, she was returning home after a visit to the bank when Nandu, dressed sharply and posing as an ad professional, approached her. He told her he was scouting for new faces for a commercial and asked if she had a portfolio. When she said no, he assured her that one could be made quickly at his nearby office.
“I had just left the bank when a man stopped me and said he was casting for a soft-drink ad. He asked for my profile. I told him I didn’t have one, so he offered to make one immediately at his office close by,” the girl told The Times of India.
Trusting his words, the teenager followed him to a building in Andheri, where he claimed his office was on the fifth floor. However, upon reaching the location, Nandu allegedly changed his story, saying the office was closed. He then instructed her to stand against a wall, pretending he would take her photos there for the portfolio. It was during this moment that the accused allegedly molested the girl.
Shocked and frightened, the girl rushed home and immediately informed her family. With the help of her brothers, she went to the local police station and registered a complaint against the accused. The police quickly acted on the complaint and arrested Nandu. He remains in custody as investigations continue. Authorities have confirmed that relevant sections of the law have been applied, and further inquiry is underway.
