The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry consistently advocated for the Vande Bharat Express between Mangaluru and Goa in various forums, including discussions held by the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee. Their persistent efforts aimed to emphasize the importance of this train connection in addressing regional transportation needs and fostering economic ties between the two locations.
Currently the fastest train between Mangaluru Junction and Madgoan is MAJN CSMT Super Fast Express, which runs daily and takes 5 hours to complete a single journey. Every train between Mangaluru and Madgoan is a long-distance train, so train ticket availability between these two stations is always short. On Tuesday, the trial run of the Mangaluru-Madgaon semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express commenced from the Mangaluru central railway station. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, local MLAs, and railway officials were present during the flag-off ceremony, marking the significant event in the presence of key dignitaries.

Mangaluru Madgaon Vande Bharat Express will stop at Udupi, Bhatkal and Karwar between Mangaluru Junction and Madgoan. The four stoppages of Mangalore Goa Vande Bharat Express will in Karnataka state and one stoppage will in Goa state.
Mangaluru Madgaon Vande Bharat Express Timetable
Mangaluru Madgaon Vande Bharat Express leaves from Mangaluru Junction at 8:30 and will reach Madgoan at 12:45 pm. The train will take a halt for 2 hours and 15 minutes at Madgoan. Mangaluru Madgoan Vande Bharat Express will leave from Madgoan at 3 pm and will reach Mangaluru at 7:15 pm. The train will take a total of 4 hours and 15 minutes to complete a journey from Mangaluru to Madgoan.

The Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express ticket prices are set at 1245 rupees for a single journey in AC Chair Car class and 2265 rupees for Executive Chair Car (EC). These rates encompass catering charges, providing passengers with a comprehensive fare for their travel, including onboard catering services.
When Will Mangaluru Madgaon Vande Bharat Express Start?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate Mangaluru Madgaon Vande Bharat Express on 30 December 2023.
