Meghalaya First Vande Metro Will Connect These Station

Meghalaya is one of the most beautiful states in North India. Soon, Meghalaya first Vande metro will start, connecting Meghalaya and Assam.

Being one of the most beautiful and popular states in India for tourism, there is still only one railway station in Meghalaya. Mendi Pathar is the only railway station in Meghalaya that is now in operation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Menipathar railway station on November 30, 2014. During the inaugural time, the railway line did not have electric power, so only diesel trains ran on this route.

On March 15, 2023, Mendipathar railway station was connected to the electric railway line. After commissioning electric traction, trains hauled by electric locomotives will now be able to operate directly from Mendipathar in Meghalaya, which will increase the average speed.

Meghalaya First Vande Metro Route

Meghalaya First Vande Metro route will cover a distance of 129 km between Guwahati in Assam and Mendi Pathar in Meghalaya. Currently, there is no express or mail train on this route. There is only one passenger train run on this route, which takes around 4 hours to cover a distance of 129 km.

Meghalaya First Vande Metro Stoppages

Meghalaya First Vande Metro will stop at Kamakhya Junction, Azara, Mizra, Chaygoan, Bamuni Gaon, Boko, Singra, Dhup Dhara, Ranguli, Anjonga, Dudhani Junction, and Nolbari between Guwahati and Mendi Pathar. Out of the 15 stoppages, 14 will be in Assam, and one will be in Meghalaya.

Meghalaya First Vande Metro Facilities

Meghalaya’s First Vande Metro will be the fully air-conditioned train and the first air conditioner in Meghalaya. Every coach of the train will have a bathroom and automatic door closing and opening gate. Every seat will have charging facilities for mobile and laptops.

Meghalaya First Vande Metro Timetable

According to the sources, Meghalaya First Vande Metro will leave Guwahati at 6 am will reach MendiPathar railway station at 8 am. The same train will leave from Menipathar at 9 am and will reach Guwahati at 11 am. Meghalaya First Vande Metro will take only 2 hours to complete a journey between Guwahati and Mendipathar, which will be faster than 2 hours from the current train between these two stations.

When Will Meghalaya’s First Vande Metro Start?

According to the media reports, Meghalaya First Vande Metro will start on 10 June 2024.
