It has been three months since the launch of the first Vande Bharat Express in Odisha and now Indian Railway is planning to launch Odisha second Vande Bharat Express train.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Odisha’s first Vande Bharat train between Puri to Howrah on May 18 via video conferencing. This was the second Vande Bharat Express for West Bengal. The train is currently operated with train numbers 22895/22896 on 6 days a week basis. The train covers a distance of 500 km in a travel time of 06 hours 20 mins with an average speed of 78 km/h. This Vande Bharat Express stop at Kharagpur Junction, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack Junction, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road Junction between Puri and Howrah.
Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express has a total of 9 stoppages, out of which 7 stoppages are in Odisha, and 2 stoppages are in West Bengal. The occupancy rate in Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express is outstanding, so Railway is now planning to start the second Vande Bharat Express in Odisha. While flagging off the first Vande Bharat Express, the Prime Minister had promised another semi-high-speed train for Odisha.

Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train Route will connect Rourkela and Bhubaneswar, which will travel a distance of 419 km. Currently, the fastest train between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar is the Intercity Express which takes 7 Hours and 15 minutes to cover a distance of 419 km between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar.
Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train Stop List
According to the sources, Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train will stop at Jharsuguda Junction, Sambalpur City, Angul and Dhenkanal between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar. This will be the first Odisha Vande Bharat Express train which will have all stoppages in Odisha Only.
When Will Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train Start?
According to media reports, Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train route is finalised, and the railway is waiting for a new rake of the Vande Bharat train from the factory. The probability that Odisha Second Vande Bharat Express Train will start from the second week of September 2023.
