Puri Second Vande Bharat Likely to Start Next Month

During the inauguration of the Puri Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hinted that Puri second Vande Bharat train will start soon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Puri first Vande Bharat Express via video conferencing. The train operates between Puri and Howrah. The train operates with the train numbers 22895/22896 on a 6-day-a-week basis. The train covers a distance of 500 km between Puri and Howrah in a travel time of 6 hours and 20 minutes. The train maintains an average speed of 78 km/h during its journey. Puri’s first Vande Bharat Express has a total of 9 stoppages, out of which 7 stoppages are in Odisha, and 2 stoppages are in West Bengal. 

The Puri first Vande Bharat Express stops at the following stations between Puri Railway Station and Howrah Junction:

  • Kharagpur Junction
  • Balasore
  • Bhadrak
  • Jajpur Keonjhar Road
  • Cuttack Junction
  • Bhubaneswar
  • Khurda Road Junction

Puri Second Vande Bharat Express Train Route

Puri Second Vande Bharat Express Train Route will cover a distance of 525 km between Puri and Rourkela. Currently, the fastest train between Puri and Rourkela Tapaswini Express takes 10 hours and 20 minutes to cover a distance of just 525, which is relatively high. The Vande Bharat between these two cities will reduce the travel time and it will complete the same distance in just 7 hours.

Puri Second Vande Bharat Express Train will stop at  Kudra Road Junction, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack Junction, Angul, Talcher, Sambalpur Junction and Jharsuguda Junction between Puri and Rourkela. Puri Second Vande Bharat Express ticket price will cost between Puri and Rourkela 1215 rupees for a single journey in the AC Chair Car class, including the catering charges and 2405 rupees for Executive Chair Car (EC), including the catering charges.

When Will Puri Second Vande Bharat Express Train Start?

As per recent media reports, the route for the second Puri Vande Bharat Express train has been confirmed, and the railway authorities are currently awaiting the delivery of a new rake of the Vande Bharat train from the factory. There is a high likelihood that the commencement of operations for the second Puri Vande Bharat Express is targeted for September 10, 2023.
