Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Will Connect These Cities

It’s been just one month since the first Vande Bharat Express for Rourkela, Odisha. The Indian Railway is planning to launch the Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express between Rourkela and Howrah.

Rourkela’s first Vande Bharat Express was started on 24 September 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference from New Delhi between Rourkela and Puri. This was the first Vande Bharat Express in Odisha, which has all stoppages in Odisha only. Rourkela’s first Vande Bharat train stop at Puri, Khurda Road Junction, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack Junction, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda Junction and Rourkela Junction.

The first Vande Bharat Express of Rourkela has 7 AC Chair Car and 1 Executive Chair Car coaches. It is currently operated with train numbers 20835/20836. This train covers a distance of 504 km in 7 hours and 45 min with an average speed of 67 km/h.

Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express Route

Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express train will cover a distance of 410 km between Rourkela and Howrah. This will be the second Vande Bharat Express directly connecting Odisha and West Bengal. The first Vande Bharat Express between Odisha and West Bengal was started between Howrah and Puri.

Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express Stop List

Rourkela Second Vande Bharat train will stop at Chakradharpur, Tatanagar Junction and Kharagpur Junction between Rourkela and Howrah. During the running of 410 km between Rourkela and Howrah, the train will stop at five stations, including the source and destination stations. This Vande Bharat Express will have two stoppages in West Bengal, one stop in Jharkhand and two stoppages in Odisha.

Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express Timetable

The Vande Bharat service from Rourkela to Howrah departs from Rourkela station at 6:30 AM and arrives at Howrah station at 11:30 AM. Following a 2.5-hour stopover in Howrah, the same train embarks on its return journey to Rourkela at 2 PM, reaching Rourkela station at 7 PM. This Vande Bharat route covers the distance between Howrah and Rourkela in approximately 5 hours.

When Will Rourkela Second Vande Bharat Express Start?

According to the media reports, the Rourkela Second Vande Bharat train will start on 15 November 2023.
