It has been almost 3 months since the inauguration of the 9 Vande Bharat Express train on the same day in India. On Sunday, September 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched nine Vande Bharat trains, linking 11 states. During the inauguration, the PM expressed optimism, stating that it won’t be long before Vande Bharat connects every corner of the nation. Introducing these nine trains will link religious and tourist spots in 11 states. These Vande Bharat trains have set a new benchmark for rail service in the country, featuring top-notch amenities and advanced safety measures, including Kavach technology.

Four daily trains operate between Patna and New Jalpaiguri, with an additional 16 trains on specific days weekly. The fastest, Rajdhani Express, takes approximately 8 hours for the 470 km journey, while others take 10 to 11 hours. The upcoming Patna–New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express aims to reduce travel time and meet high demand. Connecting three states, it’s anticipated to attract more passengers, especially those travelling to the Northeast India hill stations seeking a quicker and more efficient commute.

The Second Vande Bharat Between Bihar and West Bengal route is set to connect densely populated districts in Bihar and West Bengal, offering significant benefits to commuters. Additionally, residents travelling to Sikkim will find this route advantageous as Siliguri is the gateway due to the absence of a railway station in Sikkim. Covering a distance of 470 km in 6 hours and 45 minutes, the train will stop at Patna Junction, Barauni Junction, Khagaria Junction, Naugachia, Katihar Junction, Kishan Ganj and New Jalpaiguri.

The Second Vande Bharat Between Bihar and West Bengal will depart Patna Junction at 6 am and arrive at New Jalpaiguri by 12:45 pm. After a 1-hour and 15-minute stop, the train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 2 pm, reaching Patna at 8:30 pm. The ticket prices for the journey in the AC Chair Car class are anticipated to be around 1275 rupees, while the Executive Chair Car (EC) is expected to cost approximately 2395 rupees, though final prices may vary based on demand. As an efficient and convenient option, the Second Vande Bharat Between Bihar and West Bengal aims to enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother travel experiences for passengers in the region.
