To cater to the rising travel demand during Christmas 2024, Sabarimala pilgrimage, and the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Indian Railways has announced a robust plan of 10 special trains to Kerala and a total of 149 special train trips across various zones. Additionally, 416 special train trips have been scheduled for smooth travel to Sabarimala.

Indian Railways has launched the following special trains for Kerala to ensure seamless travel during the festive season:

  1. Train No. 06039/06040: Tambaram-Kanniyakumari-Tambaram Weekly Superfast Special
  2. Train No. 06043/06044: Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Kochuveli-Dr. MGR Chennai Central Weekly Special
  3. Train No. 06037/06038: Kochuveli-Mangalore Weekly Unreserved Antyodaya Special
  4. Train No. 06021/06022: Kochuveli-Gaya-Kochuveli Weekly Special
  5. Train No. 06007/06008: Kochuveli-Banaras-Kochuveli Weekly Specials
