Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said that 50 students will get free ride on Vande Bharat Express train in Odisha.

On Sunday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw graced Saraswati Vidya Mandir School with his presence for the Bhumi Pujan ceremony and engaged in an interactive session with the students. The school organized a competition, from which 50 fortunate students were chosen to enjoy a complimentary journey aboard the Vande Bharat Express.

Who Will Get a Free Ride On Vande Bharat Express Train?

Vaishnaw mentioned that upon viewing a video showcasing the Vande Bharat Express train, the students expressed a strong desire to experience a journey on it. In order to fulfil this aspiration, a competition will be orchestrated, and from this contest, 50 students will be chosen to enjoy a complimentary ride aboard the Vande Bharat Express. These fortunate 50 students will have the opportunity to embark on a free ride on Vande Bharat train.

Prime Minister Narendra, on 18 May 2023, virtually flagged off Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express connecting Puri to Howrah. The super-fast train provides a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience for rail users, boosts tourism and promotes economic development in the region. With the steady influx of pilgrims and tourists flocking to Puri’s picturesque sea beach, the revered Jagannath Temple, the World Heritage Site of Konark, and the enchanting Chilika Lagoon, the introduction of the Vande Bharat service will aptly cater to this demand.

Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express train operates 6 days a week, covering a distance of 500 km in a travel time of 06 hrs 20 mins with an average speed of 78 km/h. The train has 14 AC Chair Cars and 2 Executive Chair Cars coaches. This Vande Bharat stop at Howrah Junction, Kharagpur Junction, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack Junction, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road Junction and Puri.
