Howrah Puri Vande Bharat will be the first Vande Bharat Express for Odisha. After starting the Vande Bharat train, travel time between Howrah and Puri will be decreased to 6 hours from 9 hours.
The number of Vande Bharat trains in India is increasing at high speed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Kerala’s first and India's 15th Vande Bharat Express at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station on April 25, 2023. The first Vande Bharat Express train ran between New Delhi and Varanasi on February 15 2019. In the last four years, Indian Railways has started 15 Vande Bharat Express trains, and they are preparing to launch 75 new Vande Bharat Express in upcoming years.
