On September 30, 2022, the inaugural run of Maharashtra's first Vande Bharat Express train commenced its service between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital. This significant launch also marked the debut of the first Vande Bharat Express for Gujarat. Presently, the train operates under train numbers 20901/20902, serving passengers six days a week. Covering a distance of 522 km in approximately 6 hours and 15 minutes, the train maintains an average speed of 82 km/h during its journey.
