Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and grew to become the most well-known playback singer in Bollywood. Her father passed away when she was 13 years old. She started singing at age five and began her career with Rang Manch. Lata Ji recorded Ayega Anewala in the Mahal film, which gave her first break as a playback singer. She became the most recorded voice in history after compiling more than 30,000 songs in 20 Indian languages. She made albums of different genres and sang for actresses for over 50 years. Due to multiple organ failures, she passed away on February 6, 2022, at 92.

At the age of 94, Begum passed away on the evening of April 23, 2013, at her residence in Mumbai.

10. Geeta Dutt

Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri, better known by her stage name Geeta Dutt, was among the best Indian singers. She was a stunning playback singer from a rich Bengali family. She is regarded as a classical singer who succeeded in Hindi movies and recorded numerous modern Bengali songs for films and recordings. At age 16, Dutt sang two lines in her first movie. Because of this, she rapidly became well-known and went on to sing in more than 1,200 movies.

She passed away on July 20, 1972, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, at the age of 41 due to liver cirrhosis. Dutt received government recognition when India Post released stamps in 2013 and 2016 that featured her.
