DDLJ 25 Years: SRK – Kajol’s masterpiece set for worldwide re-release

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is widely regarded as the Bollywood movie of the last century.

Gaya, Bihar: To celebrate 25 years of Bollywood’s beauty of the 90’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, distributors have decided to re-release the movie all across the globe. Even after 25 years of its release, the film has not shed its magic. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on Thursday, announced on Twitter that Yash Raj Films’ Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will be releasing in theatres in several nations. 

Mr. Taran wrote, “DDLJ back in cinemas… DDLJ – starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol – to re-release in cinemas in USA, Canada, UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Mauritius, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Estonia and Finland.”

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi, Karan Johar and others also played crucial roles in the movie.

The DDLJ madness

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is widely regarded as one of the finest Bollywood movies of all time. It completely redefined the idea of Indian cinema and is the longest running movie in the history of the country’s cinema. In addition to winning the National Award for the most popular film providing wholesome entertainment, the Aditya Chopra-directed movie bagged numerous accolades including 13 awards in the 41st Filmfare Awards.

The film is known for its several shooting locations in Europe — Saanen, Montbovon, and Gstaad (in Switzerland),  Trafalgar Square, King’s Cross railway station and Angel Underground station (in England). The iconic mustard field scene was shot in Gurgaon, India.
