After the grand success of Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express train, now Indian Railway is planning to launch Kerala second Vande Bharat train between Kochi and Bangalore.

Across several South Indian states, there are currently two Vande Bharat Express trains in operation, and these states are eagerly anticipating the introduction of their third Vande Bharat train. However, Kerala stands out as the only South Indian state still awaiting its second Vande Bharat Express. Kerala boasts numerous captivating tourist destinations that attract a substantial number of visitors from across the globe annually.

The awaited Kerala second Vande Bharat train holds the potential to significantly enhance connectivity within the state. By providing faster and more efficient travel options, this train can play a pivotal role in bolstering tourism. Kerala first Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated on 25 April 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Thiruvananthapuram Central. This Vande Bharat train covers a distance of 586 km in 8 hours with an average speed of 73 km/h. kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express train has 8 stoppages at Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur Junction, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Kollam Junction and Thiruvananthapuram. This Vande Bharat train has all stoppages in Kerala only.

Kerala Second Vande Bharat Express Train Route will connect Ernakulam Junction in Kochi and KSR Bengaluru City Junction in Bangalore. Currently, the fastest train on this route is the intercity express which takes 10 hours and 40 minutes to travel a distance of 587 km between Kochi and Bangalore. The Vande Bharat Express train will take only 8 hours to complete a journey between these cities which will help the traveller to save 3 hours time during each journey.

Kerala Second Vande Bharat Express Train Stop

Indian railway has not announced the stop list of Kerala Second Vande Bharat Express Train. According to the sources, Kerala Second Vande Bharat train will stop at Palakkad Junction, Coimbatore Junction, Erode Junction, Salem Junction and Hosur between Kochi and Bangalore. This Vande Bharat Express train will have some stoppages in Kerala and some stops in Karnataka.

When Will Kerala Second Vande Bharat Express Train Start?

Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express is the best-performing Vande Bharat Express train service, with an average occupancy of 185% from July 2023. According to the media reports, Due to the high occupancy rate in Kerala first Vande Bharat Express, India Railway is planning to start Kerala second Vande Bharat in the last week of September 2023.
