In the testing phase, the Vande Bharat Express, previously referred to as Train 18, successfully reached a top speed of 180 km/h (110 mph). The design of the Vande Bharat Train was conceptualized by RDSO and executed by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai. The exterior of the Vande Bharat features an aerodynamic structure aimed at minimizing air resistance during high-speed travel.

Route: Gandhinagar to Mumbai Vande Bharat Train stops at Surat, Vadodara Junction and Ahmedabad Junction.
Timetable: Operating throughout the week, except on Sundays, the train embarks from Mumbai Central at 06:00 am, culminating its journey at Gandhinagar Capital station by 12:25 pm, effectively traversing a distance of 522 km.

Commencing its operations on December 12, 2022, this train is currently managed by the South East Central Railways (SECR). It is operational six days a week, bearing the train numbers 20825/20826.
Route: Nagpur to Bilaspur Vande Bharat Train makes stops at Raipur, Durg, and Gondia.
Timetable: Setting off from Nagpur at 2:05 pm, the train concludes its journey in Bilaspur at 7:35 pm. Conversely, departing from Bilaspur Junction at 6:45 am, the train arrives at Nagpur Junction by 12:15 pm.

Notably, the train is authorized to operate at a maximum permissible speed of 130 km/h between the Howrah and Khana sections of the route.
Route: This Vande Bharat Train stops at Bolpur (Shantiniketan), Malda Town, and Barsoi between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri.
Timetable: The Vande Bharat train leaves Howrah Junction at 5.55am and reaches New Jalpaiguri at 1.25pm. The train will then depart from New Jalpaiguri at 3.05pm and will reach Howrah at 10.35pm.

It completes a journey of 700 km in approximately 08 hours and 30 minutes, maintaining an average speed of 82 km/h. Notably, this particular train holds the distinction of being the inaugural Vande Bharat train to establish a connection between the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Route: This Vande Bharat train makes stops at Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada Junction and Rajahmundry.

This train operates six days a week under train numbers 22225/22226. Remarkably, it holds the distinction of being the first Vande Bharat Train to be piloted by a woman driver.
Route: During its journey from Mumbai to Solapur, this train makes stops at several key stations, including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, and Kurduwadi, prior to reaching its ultimate destination.
Timetable: The train sets out from Mumbai at 4:05 pm, arriving in Solapur at 10:40 pm. For the return journey, it leaves Solapur at 6:05 am and arrives back in Mumbai at 12:35 pm.

10. Mumbai CSMT to Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express
On February 11, 2023, the Mumbai CSMT – Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated and is currently managed by Central Railways (CR). Covering a distance of 339 km in a duration of 05 hours and 20 minutes, this train maintains an average speed of 64 km/h. Notably, the Mumbai CSMT – Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express holds the distinction of being the slowest Vande Bharat Train in terms of average speed, operating at a rate of 64 km/h.
Route: The Vande Bharat train from Mumbai to Shirdi stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan and Nashik Road.
Timetable: The train leaves Mumbai at 6.20am and reaches its destination Shirdi at 11.40am. It departs from Shirdi at 5.25pm and reaches Mumbai at 10.50pm.

Route: Bhopal Delhi Vande Bharat train stop at Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction, Gwalior Junction and Agra Cantt between Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj) and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

Covering a distance of 495 km in a time span of 5 hours and 50 minutes, the Chennai Central – Coimbatore Vande Bharat train maintains an average speed of 80 km/hr.
Route: Chennai Coimbatore Vande Bharat train stops at Tirupur, Erode and Salem between Chennai and Coimbatore.
Timetable: The Vande Bharat train departs from Coimbatore at 6am and reaches Chennai at 11.50am. From Chennai, it departs at 2.25pm and reaches Coimbatore at 8.15pm.

14. Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer Vande Bharat Express
The Delhi Ajmer Vande Bharat Express train holds the distinction of being the world’s inaugural semi-high-speed passenger train to operate on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) territory. This train successfully covers a distance of 429 km within a duration of 5 hours and 15 minutes, boasting a maximum speed of 110 km/h and an average speed of 80 km/h. Currently, it operates with train numbers 20977/20978 six days a week.
Route: Delhi to Ajmer Vande Bharat Train stops at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurgaon between Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer.
Timetable: The train embarks from Ajmer at 6:20 am, reaching Delhi by 11:35 am. Departing from Delhi at 6:40 pm, it arrives in Ajmer at 11:55 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kerala’s inaugural Vande Bharat Express on April 25. This semi-high-speed train is set to accomplish the route between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Kasaragod within a span of 8 hours and 5 minutes.
Route: Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod Vande Bharat train stops at Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod.

Route: This train makes stops at Howrah Junction, Kharagpur Junction, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack Junction, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road Junction, and Puri.

17. Delhi to Dehradun Vande Bharat Express
On May 25, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Uttarakhand’s maiden semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express train, establishing a connection between Dehradun and the national capital, New Delhi. This newly introduced Delhi Dehradun Vande Bharat Express marks the 17th addition to the fleet of Vande Bharat Express trains in India.
Route: The train makes scheduled stops at Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee, and Haridwar between Anand Vihar and Dehradun.
Timetable: It departs from Dehradun at 7am and reaches Delhi at 11.45am. The same train departs from Anand Vihar in Delhi at 5.50pm and reaches Dehradun at 10.35pm.
Ticket Price: The ticket prices for the Delhi Dehradun Vande Bharat train are Rs.1065 for AC Chair Car and Rs. 1890 for AC Executive Chair Car.
18. New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati Vande Bharat Express
The inaugural Northeast’s Vande Bharat Express, connecting Guwahati in Assam and New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, was introduced on May 29. This train efficiently travels a distance of 409 km in a span of five hours and thirty minutes. Operating six days a week, the train excludes Tuesdays from its schedule.
Route: New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati Vande Bharat train stops at New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon and Kamakhya.
Timetable: The train departs from New Jalpaiguri at 6.10am and reaches Guwahati at 11.40am. From Guwahati, it departs at 4.30pm and reaches New Jalpaiguri at 10pm.
Ticket Price: The base fare for an AC chair seat from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri will be ₹788, while an executive chair car ticket will cost ₹1,613.
19. Mumbai CSMT to Madgaon Vande Bharat Express
As Goa’s inaugural semi-high-speed train, it will facilitate travel between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station. This train is projected to reduce journey times by approximately one hour in comparison to the current trains operating along the same route.
Route: Mumbai Goa Vande Bharat train stops at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali and Thivim between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station.

20. Patna to Ranchi Vande Bharat Express
Patna to Ranchi Vande Bharat Express is the first Vande Bharat train for Bihar and Jharkhand. Bihar first Vande Bharat Express train was started on 27 June 2023 between Patna and Ranchi. The Patna to Ranchi Vande Bharat Express route covers a distance of 379 km in 6 hours between Patna and Ranchi.

Route: Starting from KSR Bengaluru Junction, the train stops at Yeshwanthapura Junction, Davangere, and SSS Hubballi Junction to reach Dharwad.
Timetable: The Vande Bharat Train departs from Bengaluru at 5.45am and reaches Dharwad by 12.10pm. The return journey begins from Dharwad at 1.15pm and reaches KSR Bengaluru Junction by 7.45pm.

The Gorakhpur Lucknow Charbagh Vande Bharat Express, operating under train numbers 22549/22550, will provide service for 6 days a week. This train route covers a distance of 296 km (184 miles) within a travel time of 4 hours and 15 minutes, maintaining an average speed of 71 km/h.
Route: Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat train stops at Basti and Ayodhya Junction between Gorakhpur and Lucknow.
