Gita Jayanti was an auspicious day in the Dwapara Yuga when Sri Krishna, the Lord Vishnu Avatar, asked his friend Arjuna not to return from the battlefield of Kurukshetra by teaching him the Gita. Since then, the Srimad Bhagavad Gita has been recognized as the most sacred literature in the Hindu world. Pardosh Vrat (5 December)

According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are exceptionally generous and joyful on the day of Pardosh. It is believed that Lord Shiva will bless those who fast with full commitment and dedication with pleasure, success, prosperity, and the fulfillment of all desired requests. On the day of Pradosh Vrat, certain people are said to worship Lord Shiva’s Natraj form.

Karthigai Deepam (6 December)

Karthigai Deepam is one of the important festivals in December 2022. This festival entails lighting lights everywhere to put an end to darkness. People wish to present lights to the Gods sat they will be impressed. On Kathigai Deepam, people think that the large light that is lit at 5 p.m. will bring them closer to Lord Shiva. Rohini Vrat (8 December)

The significance and meaning of the Rohini Vrat lie in the fact that it rewards the husbands of Jain women with a long and happy life. However, this does not mean that Vrat is exclusive to the Jain community only.  The Jain ladies think that the Rohini vrat will grant long and wealthy life to their husbands. As a result, they go the entire day without eating to ensure their husband’s prosperity.

On this day, Lord Jagannath is worshipped in Orissa, followed by a massive celebration. Masik Shivaratri (23 December)

It is said that Lord Shiva blesses and fulfills the wishes of worshippers who fast on Masik Shivratri. Unmarried women fast to marry, whereas married women fast to maintain peace and harmony in their lives and for the long life of their partners.

Darsha Amavasya (23 December)

Darsha Amavasya is significant because it is connected with prosperity, well-being, and blessings. People who observe this day are thought to be delivered from evils and challenges. According to astrological numerology, this day is a spiritual day that cleanses the children’s Pitru Dosha of their ancestors’ previous crimes and wrongdoings.

Chandra Darshan (24 December)

According to Hindu traditions, Chandra Deva is one of the most auspicious Navagras of Hinduism. It is stated that whoever prays with a pure heart receives the blessing of Chandra God, who listens to devotees’ pleas.
