The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) chairman Alka Upadhyay has said that the long-delayed construction of the Patna Gaya Dobhi stretch of the National Highway (NH-83) would be complete by March 2023. The Union minister said the work had started in 2015 with a grant of Rupees 2,264 crore. Due to the problem with the land acquisition, the result was non-execution by the contractor.
The work restarted in November December 202 with a revised estimated cost of Rupees 5519 crore. If the NH 83 was built in 2015, the government could save around Rupees 3255 crore. The project cost of NH 83 almost doubled due to a delay in work of 5 years. atna, Gaya and Jehanabad will benefit directly if the road construction is completed.
Patna Gaya Dobhi Four Lane Project
The NHAI has awarded work to build a 127km stretch of the Patna- aya-Dobhi highway in three different parts. Patna Gaya Dobhi’s four-lane project, also known as Patna Dobhi NH 83, is one of the dream road projects in Bihar. Work on NH 83 four-lane project was to start in 2020 and be completed by 2022; due to many issues, the project was unlikely to finish within the stipulated time. After completing this project, travelling to Jharkhand via Gaya will also be accessible.
Patna Gaya Dobhi Four Lane Road Maps
Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane road maps start from Patna and cross Jehanabad and Gaya town to reach Dobhi. NH 83 four-lane road map is designed in a way so that it can make signal-free from Patna to Dobhi. All the major cities or markets has given bypassed so that there will be smooth traffic on the new road. This road map has crossed the Patna Gaya railway line at places, and both sites have connected through the overbridge so that vehicles do not need to stop.
Patna Gaya Dobhi Four Lane Current Status(Work Update Till Now)
The construction of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane road, which has been under construction for a long time, has already missed its deadline to complete the worth. The first deadline to complete NH 83(Patna Gaya Dobhi Four Lane) was December 2022. According to the information received in this regard, the new target is June 2023, but the situation is that the work of this project may hardly be completed in December 2023.
This project is being done by dividing it into three packages. At present, the physical achievement of the work going on under these three packages is that 53 per cent of work has been done under the first package, 59 per cent under the second package and 71 per cent under the third package. Officials associated with the monitoring of Pana Gaya four-lane (NH 83) work say that the construction of three bypasses connected to this road, namely Masaurhi, Makhdumpur and Belaganj has been completed.
