The South Central Railway zone encompasses the states of Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. This zone was established on October 1, 1966, through the amalgamation of previously distinct divisions, including Hubli and Vijayawada from the Southern Railway zone, as well as Solapur and Secunderabad from the Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway's division. The South Central Railway zone has three divisions of Secunderabad railway division, Hyderabad railway division and Nanded railway division.
