The first version of the Vande Bharta Express train was launched between New Delhi and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on 15 February 2019. The first version of Vande Bharat Express was manufactured in a record time of just 18 months. During its trial runs, Train 18, which is now known as Vande Bharat Express, became the fastest EMU train in India after attaining a speed of 180 km/h. Currently, the first version of Vande Bharat runs between New Delhi to Varanasi and New Delhi to Katra.
