Indian railway is all set to launch the third version of Vande Bharat Express train with new facilities and features. Check out the more details.
The first version of the Vande Bharta Express train was launched between New Delhi and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on 15 February 2019. The first version of Vande Bharat Express was manufactured in a record time of just 18 months. During its trial runs, Train 18, which is now known as Vande Bharat Express, became the fastest EMU train in India after attaining a speed of 180 km/h. Currently, the first version of Vande Bharat runs between New Delhi to Varanasi and New Delhi to Katra.
The second version of Vande Bharat Express started manufacturing in March 2022. The process to build the second and new version of Vande Bharat Express was started in January 2021. Medha Servo Drives which is located in Hyderabad was awraed to make 44 second version of Vande Bharat Express under the the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. In the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative there was term and condition was to make at least 75% of the train parts must be made in India.
The second version of the Vande Bharat Express trail was conducted on 9 September 2022. During the trial run, it set a new record of accelerating from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in just 52 seconds, making it two seconds faster than Japanese bullet trains in acceleration. The second version of Vande Bharat Express train commercial run was started on 30 September 2022 between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital.
