US Election on a knife-edge: Donald Trump wins Florida; Joe Biden gets Washington

US Presidential Election live updates: Joe Biden assured his supporters of victory as Donald Trump getting better after initial setbacks.

New Delhi: With every minute in the US Election, the curiosity level is getting bigger and bigger. Irrespective of the result, this will be one of the most dramatic presidential elections the world’s oldest democracy has ever witnessed. With each candidates getting crucial states, the battle seems to be on a knife-edge. The result which was looking completely in favor of Joe Biden an hour ago, is now balanced with Donald Trump making a comeback.

The Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden, on Wednesday said he was optimistic of a win in the US presidential elections and thanked his supporters for their love, support and patience. “Your patience is commendable. We knew this would go long, but who knew it would go till tomorrow morning, or even longer. We feel good about where we are, we really do… We are on track to win this election,” he said, while speaking in Delaware.

Donald Trump’s Tweet flagged by Twitter

US President Donald Trump and social media giant Twitter were caught in another spat. MR Trump, who is seeking re-election, accused his opponent of “trying to steal the election.” Twitter flagged his post, saying it could be disputed or misleading. What Trump’s tweet suggest is, as experts say, there can be violence in the United States if he loses the election.

The key states in the US are Arizona, Iowa, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. Both candidates have given their best to do well in these states. At 11.30 AM (Indian Time), Biden had 223 votes against Trump’s 212, according to The Associated Press (AP). 270 is the magic number that both of them are trying to get to.

Talking about projections, Donald Trump looks good in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana, South Carolina and Utah.

However, former Vice-President Joe Biden, looks all set to win states like California, Colorado, Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington – which are known to be Democratic stronghold.
