The Delhi to Kashmir Vande Bharat Express is expected to launch in fourth week of January 2025, if all the work will go smoothly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the train, which will connect New Delhi to Kashmir through the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). Currently, there is no direct train from Delhi to Kashmir. The train will pass over the iconic Chenab Rail Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, standing 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower. Out of the 272-km USBRL project, 255 kilometres have been completed. The remaining 17 kilometres between Katra and Reasi are set to be finished by December 2024.
