Due to high ticket demands on many routes, the Indian railway will soon launch 20 Coach Vande Bharat Express trains.
Currently, Vande Bharat Express trains in India operate with 8 or 16 coaches, depending on passenger demand. While 8-coach trains cater to routes with lower demand, 16-coach trains serve high-demand routes. For the first time, Indian Railways is set to introduce a 20-coach Vande Bharat Express, marking a significant expansion in the train’s capacity.
This upgraded 20-coach train has successfully completed its trial runs and is expected to operate on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram route. The longer train aims to address growing passenger needs while maintaining the hallmark speed and efficiency of the Vande Bharat series.
India First 20 Coach Vande Bharat Express Train Route
India’s first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train will soon run on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram route. This expansion comes as the current 16-coach Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express (20634) operates with 100% occupancy, carrying 1,016 passengers daily. Interestingly, this train ranks first among 17 Vande Bharat trains with full occupancy.
The new 20-coach train is being introduced to meet the high demand, as the current route sees an occupancy rate close to 200%. This means each coach accommodates double the passengers through multiple journeys, highlighting the popularity of the Vande Bharat Express on this route.
India First 20 Coach Vande Bharat Express Train Colour
India’s first 20 coach Vande Bharat Express train will feature a fresh colour scheme of orange, grey, and black, replacing the traditional blue-and-white design. This change was introduced after complaints from several railway zones about yellowing stains on the white sections of the original trains. The vibrant new colours not only give the Vande Bharat Express a modern and dynamic look but also address maintenance issues raised earlier. The updated design will debut with the new 20-coach train, enhancing its appeal as it runs on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram route.
