Law students from Fairfield Institute of Management & Technology have qualified for the 17th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, with virtual rounds in May and finals in Geneva, July 2025.

In a moment of immense pride for Fairfield Institute of Management & Technology (FIMT), two of its outstanding law students, Darshit Mudgil and Yash Vats, have earned international recognition by qualifying for the Global Rounds of a prestigious Moot Court competition. Currently in their 10th semester of the BA LLB program, the duo are active members of FIMT’s Moot Court Society – Justice Prevails.
Their achievement is not only a testament to their hard work but also to the guidance of their dedicated team coach, Ms. Ria Das. A proud alumna of the Fairfield School of Law (Batch 2015–2020), Ms. Das is currently an Advocate at the Delhi High Court and serves as a Youth Advisor to the United Nations. Her mentorship played a crucial role in helping the students prepare for and successfully navigate the Memorial rounds of the competition.
The Global Rounds are scheduled to take place from 6th to 12th May 2025, and the FIMT team is preparing rigorously to compete on the international stage. This qualification marks a significant milestone, as the Fairfield School of Law has been ranked among the Top 50 teams globally and Top 13 in Asia, showcasing the institution’s growing reputation in legal education and advocacy training.
The success of Darshit and Yash highlights the high academic standards and practical training that Fairfield Institute provides its law students. Participation in such esteemed global platforms also reflects the effectiveness of its Moot Court Society, which has consistently encouraged legal research, analytical reasoning, and courtroom advocacy skills.
Speaking on the achievement, faculty members and fellow students expressed immense pride and enthusiasm. “This is a proud moment not just for our students, but for the entire Fairfield community. Competing globally is no small feat, and qualifying at this level is a major accomplishment,” said a spokesperson for the School of Law.
As the team gears up for the upcoming Global Rounds, FIMT continues to support and empower its students to reach new academic heights. With such milestones, Fairfield Institute of Management & Technology reaffirms its position as a premier legal education institution in India.
