The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has set a new engineering benchmark, with the construction of Delhi metro highest point now surpassing the previous record at Dhaula Kuan.

The new highest point is located near Haiderpur Badli Mor Metro Station, making it a significant infrastructure achievement. As part of Phase-IV of the Magenta Line Extension (Janakpuri West – RK Ashram Marg Corridor), the newly constructed section reaches a staggering height of 28.362 meters—equivalent to an 8-storey building. This newly built section crosses a 490-meter-long portion of the Yellow Line near Outer Ring Road and is located at pillar number 340.

Previously, Dhaula Kuan Metro Station held the record for Delhi Metro highest point at 23.6 meters, but the new structure at Haiderpur Badli Mor has surpassed it by nearly 5 meters. This remarkable feat highlights DMRC’s expertise in large-scale urban transportation projects and demonstrates its commitment to technological innovation and infrastructure development.

The construction of this elevated section is a testament to DMRC’s ability to execute complex projects in densely populated urban areas. The extension of the Magenta Line under Phase-IV will significantly enhance metro connectivity for commuters, reducing travel time and providing a seamless transit experience.

The new high-altitude metro stretch is expected to improve public transport accessibility for residents and daily commuters in North and West Delhi, easing congestion on roads and promoting sustainable urban mobility.

With every phase of development, Delhi Metro continues to set new records in urban transportation, ensuring that the city remains well-connected with world-class infrastructure. This latest milestone reinforces DMRC’s reputation as a leader in metro rail construction, pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence and public transport innovation.

The Delhi Metro project began in 1998, aiming to revolutionize public transport in the capital. The first operational segment was an elevated stretch on the Red Line (Shahdara to Tis Hazari), which started on 25 December 2002. This was followed by the first underground section on the Yellow Line (Vishwa Vidyalaya to Kashmere Gate), opening on 20 December 2004. The network was developed in multiple phases, with Phase I completed in 2006, Phase II in 2011, and Phase III mostly finished by 2021. A minor extension on the Airport Line was added in 2023, and Phase IV construction began on 30 December 2019.
