According to the DRM of the Lucknow division, if everything goes according to the plan, the division will operate Vande Bharat Express Train between Lucknow and Gorakhpur. In the future, the same train will also be extended to New Delhi. The railway is trying to develop a track where trains can run up to 160 km/h efficiently.
Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will be the third Vande Bharat Express operational in Uttar Pradesh and the second Vande Bharat Express for eastern Uttar Pradesh. Currently, Vande Bharat Express runs between Varanasi and New Delhi, and Delhi Bhopal Vande Bharat connects Mathura and Agara station.
Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat Express Route
Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat route will cross only stations of Uttar Pradesh. Gorakhpur – Lucknow Vande Bharat will be the only Vande Bharat Express which will have starting and ending stations in Uttar Pradesh. This train route will cross Gonda Junction and Basti between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. This Vande Bharat train is a big booster for the people going to Gorakhpur from Lucknow or Delhi.

Gorakhpur – Lucknow Vande Bharat will stop at only two stations, Gonda Junction and Basti, between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. The route is very short, so that it will stop at only two stations. This Vande Bharat Express will connect Eastern Uttar Pradesh with Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Gorakhpur and Lucknow are two major and important stations in Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, there is no super fast train like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, or Jan Shatabadi running between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. The fasted train between Gorakhpur and Lucknow is currently the Intercity Express which takes around 5 hours to complete the journey but Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat will take only 3 hours 30 minutes.

The distance between Gorakhpur and Lucknow is only 274 and Vande Bharat Express train will take around 3 hours and 30 minutes to travel between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. The final ticket price has not been announced by Indian Railway, but according to media reports Gorakhpur Lucknow Vande Bharat Express ticket price will be around 795 rupees for a single journey in the AC Chair Car class and 1525 rupees for Executive Chair Car (EC).
