Jharkhand first Vande Bharat express train was started on 27 June 2023 between Ranchi Junction and Patna Junction. This was also the first Vande Bharat Express for Bihar. Via a video conference from the Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj) railway station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the commencement of the train. The train is currently operated with train numbers 22349/22350 on 6 days a week basis. The train covers a distance of 380 km in 06 hours with an average speed of 63 km/h.

Ranchi Patna Vande Bharat Express currently has 7 AC Chair Cars and 1 Executive Chair Cars coach. This Vande Bharat train is 3 hours faster than other trains between Ranchi and Patna. This Vande Bharat Train stops at Mesra, Barkakana Junction, Hazaribag Town, Koderma Junction and Gaya Junction between Ranchi and Patna.

This Vande Bharat Train Route will pass through the Patna-Jhajha-Asansol-Howrah railway line, which is primarily a railway line to connect Howrah and Patna.
