Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has already announced that Vande Metro will be going to start service between Kanpur and Lucknow. Currently, there are more than 30 trains between Kanpur and Lucknow which run on a daily basis or a few run once or twice a week.

Kanpur Lucknow Vande Metro Route will cover a distance of 71 km. During the travelling of 71 km, Vande Metro will stop at Magarwara, Unnao Junction, Sonik, Ajgain, Kusumbhi, Jaitipur, Harauni, Piparsand, Amausi and Manak Nagar between Kanpur Central and Lucknow Charbagh railway station.

Currently, the MEMU Express between Kanpur and Lucknow takes around 2 hours to complete the journey of 71 km. The Kanpur Lucknow Vande Metro engine will be more powerful than the MEMU Express, which will help to reach maximum speed in less time. Lucknow Kanpur Vande Metro will complete the journey between Lucknow and Kanpur in only 1 hour and 30 minutes which helps travellers to save 30 minutes on every trip.
