Punjab first Vande Bharat express train was started on 3 October 2019 between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This was the first Vande Bharat Express for Jammu. The train is currently operated with train numbers 22439/22440 on 6 days a week basis. The train covers a distance of 655 km in a travel time of 8hrs with an average speed of 83 km/h. This train stops at New Delhi, Ambala Cantt. Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This is the first Vande Bharat Express train which connects four Indian states New Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
Punjab’s second Vande Bharat Express train was started on 13 October 2022 between New Delhi and Amb Andaura railway station in Himachal Pradesh. The Punjab second Vande Bharat train also has only one stoppage at Anandpur Sahib, which is in Punjab. This is also the first Vande Bharat train for Himachal Pradesh. New Delhi to Amb Andaura Vande Bharat Express train no 22447/22448 cover a distance of 412 km in 5 hrs 15 mins with an average speed of 80 km/h.

Punjab Third Vande Bharat Express Train Route will connect to the India capital New Delhi and the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This Vande Bharat route will cover a distance of 450 km. This Vande Bharat Express route will serve as a connecting link between three Indian states: Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
When Will Punjab Third Vande Bharat Express Train Start?
Sources indicate that the third Vande Bharat Express train in Punjab is expected to commence its operations in November, coinciding with the Diwali celebrations in 2023.
