Security Forces Foil Infiltration Bid, Eliminate Three Terrorists along LoC in Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir

Indian security forces successfully prevented an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector, Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating three terrorists in a coordinated operation.

In a successful counter-terrorism operation, security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and intelligence agencies, eliminated three terrorists in the Hathlanga forward area of the north Kashmir district.

The Chinar Corps, in a social media post, confirmed the operation’s success, stating, “In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice and Intelligence agencies, an infiltration bid was foiled today in the morning hours along LoC in Uri Sector, #Baramulla. 03xTerrorists tried to infiltrate who were engaged by alert troops.”

Two of the terrorists’ bodies have been recovered, while the retrieval of the third body has been hampered by firing from a Pakistani post in the vicinity on the LoC. The operation is currently ongoing, with security forces working diligently to secure the area.

The identities and affiliations of the slain terrorists have not yet been ascertained, according to the local police.

This successful counter-terrorism operation comes just a day after security forces unearthed a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror module in the Baramulla district. Two militant associates were arrested, and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from them. The arrested individuals were identified as Zaid Hassan Malla, a resident of Mir Sahib Baramulla, and Mohammad Arif Channa from Stadium Colony Baramulla. They were allegedly involved in cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan-based terror handlers, further distributing them to LeT terrorists for carrying out nefarious activities, according to a police spokesperson.

Meanwhile, in the Anantnag district, a separate operation is underway to neutralize terrorists who have taken positions in the forested and hilly terrain. Security forces have deployed drones to pinpoint the terrorists’ exact locations, as the operation to flush out the militants has entered its fourth day.

The successful thwarting of the infiltration bid underscores the vigilance and determination of Indian security forces in maintaining peace and security in the region, particularly along the volatile Line of Control.
