Currently, there are 25 Vande Bharat trains operational across the country. Seven new Vande Bharat Express will be launched on 24 September 2023.
On 24 September 2023, it will be a record day for the Indian Railway when seven new Vande Bharat Express trains will be launched in a single day. Previously, on 27 June 2023, five new Vande Bharat Train were launched, which was the maximum number of Vande Bharat launched in a single day. On 27 June 2023, Prime Minister Modi virtually launched Mumbai CSMT – Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, Patna – Ranchi Vande Bharat Express, KSR Bengaluru – Dharwad Vande Bharat Express, Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj) – Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express and Indore – Bhopal Vande Bharat Express.
The launch of seven new Vande Bharat trains comes nearly two and half months after the inauguration of the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express on July 7th. The last Vande Bharat was launched in white and blue colour, but now many upcoming Vande Bharat Train will launched with orange and grey colours. A video depicting the new orange-coloured train undergoing testing at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai went viral on social media.
Presently, there are 25 operational Vande Bharat trains in service nationwide. With the imminent launch of seven new Vande Bharat Express trains scheduled for next Sunday, the total count of these trains will increase to 32. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to be present in either Odisha or Rajasthan for the launch of the new Vande Bharat Express trains.
