The Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology NCC unit organized the inaugural edition of the annual NCC Fest, VANDE SHAKTI’24, on 9th April 2024. The NCC in India started in 1948. It has its roots in the ‘University Corps’ made under the Indian Defence Act 1917. This was to fill in the shortage of people in the Army.

The NCC Fest event began with Maj. S.P. Vishwasrao’s arrival. FIMT cadets gave him the Guard of Honour. In the auditorium, the skit “Yamuna in Duvidha” was preceded by Ganesh Vandana and lamp lighting, after being addressed by ADG Sir, the NCC Fest competition began. Nine competitions were held, followed by the address and prize distribution by Brig Devasheesh Choudhury, sir, Group Commander C.
