Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Will Connect These Cities

Maharashtra first Vande Bharat express train was started on 30 Sept 2022 between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital. This was also the first Vande Bharat Express for Gujarat. The train is currently operated with train numbers 20901/20902 on 6 days a week basis. The train covers a distance of 522 km in 06 hrs 15 mins with an average speed of 82 km/h. This Vande Bharat Train stops at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara Junction and Ahmedabad Junction between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital.

Maharashtra’s second Vande Bharat Express train was started on 10 Feb 2023 between Mumbai CSMT and Solapur. This was the first Maharashtra Vande Bharat train which has all stoppages in Maharashtra only. This is also the first Vande Bharat train that a woman Surekha Yadav, has driven. The 22226/22225 Solapur – Mumbai CSMT Vande Bharat Express currently has 14 AC Chair Car and 2 Executive Chair Cars coaches.

Maharashtra’s third Vande Bharat Express train was started on 11 February 2023 between Mumbai CSMT and Sainagar Shirdi. This Vande Bharat covers a distance of 339 km while stopping at Dadar Central, Thane, Kalyan Junction and Nashik Road between Mumbai CSMT and Sainagar Shirdi Terminus. The 22223/22224 Mumbai CSMT – Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express travel time of 5 hrs 20 mins with an average speed of 64 km/h.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Maharashtra’s fourth Vande Bharat Express train on 27 June 2023 via video conference. Maharashtra’s fourth Vande Bharat train covers a distance of 581 km in 10 hrs 05 mins during the monsoon session and 7 hours 45 mins during the non-monsoon session. This train stops at seven stations between Mumbai CSTM and Madgaon Junction.

Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Express Train Route

Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat route will connect two important cities of Maharashtra, Mumbai and Kolhapur. Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Express Train route will cover a distance of 518 km between Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus in Kolhapur.

According to the media reports Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Express Train will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, Satara and Miraj Junction between Mumbai and Kolhapur. Currently, there are only two trains between Mumbai and Kolhapur which takes 11 to 12 hours to complete a journey. The Vande Bharat between Mumbai and Kolhapur will take only 7 hours and will reduce the travel time between these cities by 4 to 5 hours.

When Will Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Express Train Start?

According to the sources, Maharashtra Fifth Vande Bharat Express Train will start in November 2023. Mumbai Kolhapur Vande Bharat Express will connect the important hub of historical and cultural activities.
