On February 11, 2023, the Mumbai Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express train embarked on its inaugural journey. It efficiently traverses a distance of 339 km in a span of 5 hours and 20 minutes, boasting an impressive average velocity of 64 km/h. This pioneering train achieved a significant milestone by becoming the inaugural Vande Bharat Express service to forge a crucial link between the two prominent cities within Maharashtra.
The residents of Dadar Central and Thane have persistently advocated for the inclusion of a halt for the Mumbai Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express at their stations. Dadar Central and Thane hold paramount importance as two of the most vital railway hubs in Mumbai. Incorporating stoppages for the Vande Bharat Express at Dadar Central and Thane would significantly enhance the accessibility for Mumbai’s commuters, enabling them to board the train conveniently.
Commencing today, ticket booking for the Mumbai Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express, with stops at Dadar Central and Thane railway stations, will be open. An official announcement from the railway authorities has confirmed that starting from August 4, 2023, the Mumbai Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express will make halts at both Dadar Central and Thane railway stations. Currently, the train only stops at Kalyan Junction and Nashik, situated between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai and Sainagar Shirdi. With the addition of halts at Dadar Central and Thane stations, the total number of stops for the Mumbai Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express will increase to four.
