Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express train service is expected to get officially inaugurated on 25 April 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An official said that the Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat train completed its second trial run on Wednesday from here to Kasaragod in 7 hours and 50 minutes. The train, which departed Thiruvananthapuram at 5.20 a.m., arrived at Kasaragod at 1.10 p.m.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had announced that Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express would be extended till Kasaragod instead of ending at Kannur. Several people welcomed the train at Kasaragod station, including Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan, who also requested that the train service be extended to Kasaragod.

Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express will take around 7:50 minutes to complete the one-way journey.

The major stations shortlisted for Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat stops Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Junction, Thrissur, Kozhikode Main and Kannur.

Railway officials have not yet confirmed the Thiruvananthapuram Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express train fare. According to sources, the Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express train will cost around 1680 rupees for a single journey in AC Chair Car class and 2820 rupees for Exec. Chair Car (EC).

On April 25 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train service at Thiruvananthapuram Central. It will be the 2nd Generation Vande Bharat Express train, which will connect the Kerala capital, Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod district. This will be the first Vande Bharat Express train for Kerala with 16 coaches.
