Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the maiden voyage of the Vande Bharat Express on February 15, 2019. This groundbreaking journey linked New Delhi and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The first West Bengal Vande Bharat Express train was started on 30 December 2022 with train number 22301/22302 between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. This Vande Bharat Express has a total of five stoppages, including the sources station and destination station; out of the five stoppages, 4 stops are in West Bengal only. There was only one stop at Barsoi Junction, which was in Bihar.

Fabricated at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the train serves as a shining example of the ‘Make-In-India’ initiative, showcasing India’s remarkable engineering prowess. The second Vande Bharat Express train in West Bengal was started between Howrah and Puri, which connects the Indian states of West Bengal and Odisha. The West Bengal second Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 500 km in 06 hrs 20 mins with a frequency of six days a week.

West Bengal Third Vande Bharat Express Train Route

The route of the Third Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal will span 532 kilometres, connecting Patna Junction in Bihar to Howrah Junction in Kolkata, West Bengal. This Vande Bharat train route will establish vital links among three significant Indian states: Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. The first Vande Bharat Express of West Bengal route cover a distance of 561 while the second Vande Bharat Express train route covers a distance of 500 km.

West Bengal Third Vande Bharat Express Train Stop List

The upcoming West Bengal third Vande Bharat Express train originating in West Bengal is planned to make just two stops, Howrah and Asansol Junction, within the state. While there is growing public demand for additional stoppages for the Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal, no official confirmation has been made by Indian Railways regarding any new stops within the state. The West Bengal third Vande Bharat Express Train is scheduled to make halts solely at Jasidih and Asansol Junction on its route between Patna Junction and Howrah Junction.

When Will West Bengal Third Vande Bharat Express Train Start?

The trial run of the Vande Bharat Express train on the Patna-Jhajha-Asansol-Howrah route was successfully conducted on August 5, 2023. According to reliable sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate West Bengal third Vande Bharat Express on August 15, 2023, through video conferencing.
